Hybrid Cadastre Workshop - Edmonton      

Date: January 21, 2016 (Deadline to Register: January 17)

Time: 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Presenter: Stephen Howard, ALS

Overview: A review of the events leading to the Hybrid Cadastre, followed by a review of the guidelines of July 2015, Ravi's e-mails of October 23 and November 27 and finally the proposed MSP standards.    

Field Work: The changes that will need to be made in the field to meet the very specific technical requirements and rules regarding monumentation will be illustrated.  

Office Work: Examples will illustrate graphically what the guidelines say in words. The plan standards will be reviewed, with examples, followed by reviews of several hard copy example plans. A rudimentary checklist will be included, as well as known pitfalls.  

Things to be Developed: Lead by the Director of Surveys, the latest on concepts that are not yet fully developed will be dealt with including how the affidavit and “monument placed” databases will work, “structured seed-files,”  “on-line validation protocols,“ “auto integration routines” and plan correction procedures.  

Open Forum: Loosely structured for one hour after lunch starting with questions from the floor and then “unanswered questions,” with a view to setting priorities and listing the pros and cons.
