Time: 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Presenters: Paddy Marshall and Scott Westlund

Only a professional land surveyor has the training, experience and knowledge to assess survey evidence. In the past, most surveyors assessed the evidence themselves while in the field. Today, evidence is usually assessed from the office using field notes and photos. In this seminar, using examples drawn from Boundary Panel cases and Continuing Competency Reviews, Paddy Marshall, ALS and Scott Westlund, ALS will provide their thoughts on evidence assessment. Topics discussed will include:
  • The hierarchy of evidence
  • Field notes
  • Tips for evidence assessment in urban areas
  • Tips for evidence assessment in rural areas
  • Things every principal should discuss with their articled student
